Chief Technology Officer

Jim directs HMS’ technology team as it builds robust, innovative systems that provide sophisticated solutions to difficult problems for healthcare.  Intrinsic in Jim’s work is his commitment to pace and discipline in software execution.  He is captivated by the opportunity to ensure that EpiCenter and  MediCenter can be adapted and enhanced quickly, while being robust, secure, and extensible for the future.

Jim has spent most of his career meeting the challenges common in startup environments.  The software he designed at Greystripe and CoManage won industry awards and helped both companies to grow and thrive.  Durrell’s experience as a Chief Software Architect, Principal Engineer, and Senior Product Manager will allow HMS to continue offering innovative products and better respond to its clients’ technological and software needs.

Durrell received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and his Masters of Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.  He has also studied software engineering at the graduate level.  He provides HMS academic breadth and a long professional record of innovative success.
